On what looked like a fantastic batting track Wargrave batted first and made a positive start through Woods and Lunn. Having reached 68 without loss Harpsden turned to Tom Ham who immediately struck removing Lunn with assistance from Hodgkiss. Ham was to go on to remove two more Wargrave batsmen to end with tidy figures of 3-34. With the openers removed the rest of the Wargrave batsmen struggled to get going not helped by some tidy bowling from Harpsden. Most of the Bowlers found success and the wicket were shared around accordingly.

Chasing just 180 on such a fine pitch Harpsden were in confident mood starting their innings. But having reached just 80 for the loss of 4 wicket things did not look so promising. But as is often the case, two men stepped up to meet the challenge and saw Harpsden home. Ian Nugent hit some lusty blows on the way to 47* but star of the show was Neil Sweet who batted superbly for a chanceless 83*. These two carried Harpsden to victory with 6 wickets still in hand.
