We'll be back!

Morgan CC won the toss and elected to bat first on a Sunny Saturday afternoon. Hepburn and Mitchell opened the bowling for Harpsden as the pace spin combination proved to be a good one as the scoreboard barely crept along in the first 10 over. Hepburn was the first to strike with a ball that nipped away and caught the edge Stevens taking the catch at first slip. This brought Khalid to the crease for Morgan and the scoring rate quickly increased as he took the attack to the bowlers.

The introduction of Hodgkiss brought about the customary wicket, Basil losing his off bail. Hodgkiss went on to produce a fine spell of bowling and was rewarded with figures of 5-44. Meanwhile Khalid went about his batting with a good aggression and took full advantage of the short boundary on one side. It was not until the introduction of Paice to the attack that Khalid failed to clear the boundary falling to a catch right on the ropes. The tail wagged with Leslie scoring a somewhat streaky 26 and the late arriving Gray showing why he would have opened that batting had he arrived for the start.

Harpsden having been set the target of 185 to win soon lost their first wicket, as Reissman departed for 4 runs. This was to prove to be a solitary moment of success for Morgan as Grimmer was joined by Broome at the crease. The pair having started cautiously soon accelerated a started to hit boundaries at will. The introduction of the slow bowlers only increased the scoring rate as both batsmen passed their half centuries. Grimmer ended 91 not out and Broome 83 not out and on another day would have been sure to reach three figures.
